Originally composed in 1919 and made famous as the theme song of the "Ziegfeld Follies," this song has recently entered the public domain. Gurbo's reinterpretation, created for WNYC's Public Song Project in March 2023, takes a unique approach to this beloved classic.
In his rendition, Gurbo explores the darker side of this often upbeat and major-key song. He presents it in a minor key, giving it a haunting quality.
