Jesus Say
Solklee
Jesus Say by Solklee is a song packed with energy and a defiant attitude, and recording it was a true challenge, especially for the second verse, which includes rap parts. It was an idea I suggested to Solklee to add even more dynamism and energy to the track, and after a whole afternoon of testing and adjustments, we finally captured the perfect take.
The song's lyrics are full of criticism and reflection on beliefs and social contradictions, addressing deep topics such as religion and judgment, while maintaining a rebellious and provocative attitude. The line "All the bad people go to hell" resonates as a true anthem, highlighting its central theme, a wordplay that blends perfectly with the solid rhythm base and catchy vocal hooks.
My focus during the recording and production process was to ensure the song kept that constant energy, without losing the balance between the power of the vocals and the strength of the rhythm base. I wanted every part of the song to stand out, especially the transition between the more aggressive moments and the more melodic sections, so the song would have the right emotional texture. The final result is a perfect blend of energy, reflection, and emotion, reflecting Solklee's unique essence and their ability to convey profound messages with an energetic and stimulating approach.
