This project holds a very special place in my journey. It was not only the first recording I ever worked on, but also the first band I was part of. Slow Motion blended elements of hardcore punk with southern rock — a combination that feels quite unique today, but one that reflected the sound shaping parts of the underground scene in the early 2010s. Bands like Gallows, Blackhole, and The Chariot were strong influences and played a key role in shaping the band’s direction.
The EP was recorded in 2012 and released in 2013. It originally featured six tracks, but only three could be recovered after the band dissolved later that same year and most of the material was removed.
Beyond the music itself, the experience was incredibly formative. It marked my first real encounter with recording and music production, and everything that comes with it. We relied heavily on a DIY approach: analog pedals to shape the guitar distortion, broken and worn-out microphones, and the challenge of capturing a full drum kit with only two mics. It was raw, imperfect, and full of improvisation — but that process taught me lessons about creativity, problem-solving, and recording that still influence the way I work today.
