Q: Hello Solklee! Welcome to this interview for badwolfrecords.net. Thank you for being here. How are you doing today?
A: Hello! Thank you very much for the welcome and the invitation to this interview. I'm doing great, excited to be able to share a little more about my music.
Q: Well, let's get started! First, I would like you to tell us a little bit about how you feel about the great result that your songs have achieved on Spotify, which to date have accumulated more than 13,000 plays.
A: Yes! The truth is, I feel really excited and grateful for the response and the reception that my music has had on Spotify. Seeing that my songs have been listened to over and over again is amazing and it gives me a lot of motivation to keep creating and sharing my art with the world. It's a wonderful feeling to know that there are people out there who enjoy my music and who feel connected to it in some way.
Q: Without a doubt! What do you think is the reason for this positive result?
A: I think the positive result is due to a combination of factors. First, I am very grateful for the support of my followers, who have shared my music and helped to spread it on social media. Additionally, I believe that the fact that my compositions are emotional and personal has connected with many people who are looking for music that touches their hearts. Finally, I also believe that the quality of production of my songs and the hard work that has been put into the recording studio have contributed enormously to this result.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about how the recording and production process has been?
A: The recording and production process has been an incredible experience. It all started with the writing of the songs, and once we had a clear idea of what we wanted to convey, we went into the studio at Bad Wolf Records with my producer; Diego, who has been an incredible person to work with, and really helped bring my vision to life. We experimented with different sounds and instruments until we found the perfect fit for each song. It was a collaborative effort, and we both put our hearts and souls into the project. In fact, at this very moment, we are recording my first full-length album titled "Fake God" from which some of the songs that are already on Spotify and that people have had the opportunity to listen to come from. I am really proud of the final result and can't wait for everyone to hear it.
Q: Amazing! When is this album going to be released?
A: The album is scheduled to be released later this year 2023, but we are planning to release another promotional single before spring arrives.
Q: Returning to the recording studio, have there been any notable or amusing events related to the recording/production?
A: The album recording process has been filled with enjoyable moments thanks to the great synergy I had with the Bad Wolf Records team. Our collaboration resulted in a cohesive and well-crafted project. Moreover, during this time, I began delving into music theory and instrumental performance, expanding my skills and knowledge as a musician. The positive energy and creative flow during the recording sessions brought out the best in both me and the producer, resulting in a memorable and rewarding experience for all.
Q: What artists have served as your main musical influences for the composition of this album?
A: I have been influenced by a variety of artists and genres as a musician and composer. Two of the prominent influences on my musical composition are Lana Del Rey and Amy Winehouse. I love the dreamy and atmospheric sound of Lana Del Rey, which I often incorporate into my own music. Her lyrics are often introspective and personal, and I also explore similar themes in my own lyrics. As for Amy Winehouse, she was a powerful and moving vocalist, and I am drawn to the jazz and R&B elements in her music, which I have explored in my own work.
Q: Regarding your songs that have already been released on streaming platforms. Can you tell us what each of them is about? Which one is your favorite?
A: "Liar": It was the first song I released. It's an emotional song with melancholic and nostalgic tones. Here, the pain and disappointment of a failed romantic relationship are explored, as well as the difficulty of trusting again after being hurt. In "Duh", it reflects on the break-up of the relationship between humans and God, and the constant questioning and abandonment that can result from this. "F**king Boy" is a song about the difficulty of seeing an ex-partner live a carefree and promiscuous lifestyle without showing any remorse or compassion after the end of the relationship. And finally, "Jesus Say", my favorite, questions the devotion of those who eventually commit sins and end up in hell, exploring the conflict between religious beliefs and the realities of human behavior.
