Many rock enthusiasts argue that the music of the '70s and '80s felt different—more vibrant, more full of energy—and they couldn't be more correct. Even from a technical standpoint, we have previously discussed on our blog how contemporary music intentionally lacks dynamic range to keep you captivated from start to finish. However, this causes the music to lose nuances and authenticity.
For that reason, Livid. is one of those bands that immediately grabs your attention. It sounds like those iconic bands from past decades but with an incredibly immersive sound and quality. It stands out in the rock scene immediately, embodying the essence of classic hard rock in its purest form but with completely refreshed sound quality, as if Led Zeppelin had existed in 2024.
"Downtown," officially released on December 22, 2023, establishes itself as their second studio release, maintaining the same energy as their previous album, "Raise My Bet," but on steroids! This proves that the talented trio from Miami is not only capable of standing out in the crowd but also capable of 'raising the bet' on their own boundaries of talent.
Country Stroll
In a world filled with a variety of artists, different music genres, and trends, Ari Joshua has simply decided to stand out and make history. This talented Psychedelic Jazz guitarist from Seattle has not only captivated thousands of listeners worldwide with his characteristic way of caressing the strings of his electric guitar but also for being the man who has managed to create the most exciting and impressive artistic collaborations of recent times, bringing together the most skilled and talented musicians from the underground scene. If you're one of our loyal followers, you're probably already familiar with his name, as Ari Joshua has already graciously shared one of his most precious pieces with all of us; "Dragons Layer," which we had the pleasure of experiencing on Bad Wolf Radio during the months of September and October 2023.
This time around, Ari Joshua returns doubling down to delight us with his latest studio release titled "Country Stroll." A tribute to the legendary guitarist Bill Frisell, known for his eclectic approach and ability to merge different music genres, including jazz, country, folk, blues, and classical music.
As usual, Ari always has a surprise for us, and it turns out that this incredible release also features the collaboration of the talented musicians Billy Martin and John Medeski, whom you may already know from "Dragons Layer" or hits like "Let's Do It Right Now." The synergy existing in this musical trio is undoubtedly evident from the very beginning. While retaining the effervescence of their experimental sound, this time they infuse it with the pure elegance of jazz, complementing the musical proposal and taking it to new horizons.
"Country Stroll" marks a significant milestone in Ari Joshua's epic musical journey, establishing itself as the third single from this magnificent collaboration and the fourth release together. With Chris Bittner of Applehead Recording handling the sound engineering, Ed Brooks of Resonant Mastering in charge of the mastering process, and Ari Raskin of Deepwater Studios in the mix, "Country Stroll" radiates in its highest quality as an auditory experience, one of those pieces that will undoubtedly carve its place in history and should be preserved in a time capsule for the day when extraterrestrials come across it in space and find us.

Hailing from the vibrant city of Nashville, TN, the talented emerging band Horsebread, comprised of the dynamic duo Andrew Frazier and Sam McLeod, is here to delight us with their debut single titled "Rely." This song marks the band's first-ever release, and surprisingly, it was self-produced by the band itself over the course of four years.
Are you a perfectionist? Well, these guys must be, because "Rely" is one of those songs that has been carefully crafted before making its official appearance on streaming platforms. Its incredible quality is not only noticeable for its polished and professional sound, but it also showcases the band's unique sonic fingerprint, making it stand out immediately in the current music panorama by creating the perfect balance between a strong atmospheric instrumentation led by harmonious keyboards, delayed guitars, and energetic percussion, along with a captivating vocal lines, taking listeners on a strong sonic journey that will make them float on a dream-like sensation. Very much like Deftones' 2006 "Cherry Waves" chorus but across the entire song. (Go and hit play right now, you will thank us later).
Simultaneously, "Rely" defies the rules of faith and religion, revealing the true essence of the human being by questioning existence and finding our own truth, making this song a true indie-rock gem and a incredible entrance for this band in the indie-rock scene.

Abrasive Trees, is what we like to call a true "auditory delight," and beyond merely being an incredible band, this group of talented musicians brings a complete sonic experience that is truly mind-blowing. Virtual Reality Devices? Who needs that trash! "Mill Session," their latest audiovisual production, promises to take listeners on a musical journey that will transport their senses to a totally new dimension.
Through its 20 minutes of extension, the talented band from Totnes, UK, not only showcases three of their most exquisite masterpieces but also provides detailed insights into the inspiration behind each composition.
