Katerina Nicole Releases New Single "Black on White" Featuring Johnny Ciardullo

Canadian-Greek metal artist Katerina Nicole has unveiled her latest single, Black on White, featuring Johnny Ciardullo of Angelmaker and Carcosa. The new track blends Katerina's signature mix of nu metal, metalcore, haunting melodies, and aggressive vocals with Ciardullo's melodic death metal influence, resulting in an intense vocal exchange that drives the song's central message.
Rather than approaching the collaboration as a traditional guest feature, Katerina envisioned Black on White as a confrontation between two voices. Inspired by a deeply personal experience, the track explores the aftermath of what she describes as "a truly disgusting situation," with the dynamic between both vocalists amplifying the song's emotional weight and intensity. As she explains, the song carries a straightforward message: "If you want to fuck around, you'll find out."
Johnny Ciardullo also reflected on the collaboration, highlighting the opportunity to work with someone he attended high school with more than a decade ago. After hearing the demo, he was eager to contribute to the project and expressed pride in the final result.
Producer Jordan Chase revealed that Black on White was added late in the writing process. While preserving Katerina's established sound, the production was also designed to create space for Ciardullo's vocal style. Despite completing the final music and vocal tracking under a tight deadline, Chase credits the fast-paced process—and the chemistry between both vocalists—for helping shape the finished track.
Since the release of her debut EP, Serene in Violent Oceans, Katerina Nicole has continued to evolve her sound into a darker, heavier, and more aggressive direction while maintaining a cinematic and melodic edge. Known for her high-energy live performances and emotionally driven songwriting, she continues to establish herself as an emerging presence in the international metal scene.
